2017 National Small Business Week
April 30, 2017
April 30, 2017 begins a weeklong celebration to honor the pillars of our economy; the American entrepreneur and small business owner. This year, National Small Business Week runs from April 30 – May 6, and much like Small Business Saturday every November; this event shines a spotlight on local businesses, like those in our community.
You can help celebrate this year by visiting many of the small business owners in downtown Moline Centre. 28 million small businesses in America account for 54% of all U.S. sales, and small businesses create about two out of every three new jobs. The small business sector in America also occupies 30 – 50% of all commercial space; an estimated 20 – 34 billion square feet!
Our small business owners create rich, diverse and enticing Main Streets and city blocks. Whether you are strolling through 5th Avenue, dining at Johnny’s or shopping at WaterMark Corners, you know that it’s the small businesses that give our town its unique character.
To our downtown business owners, we thank you. To our community members who support our businesses during National Small Business Week and every week of the year, we are eternally grateful.
